We already know the winner....

We live in a world that is full of fear. Considering the recent shootings massacres, our corrupt politicians, the pending economic collapse, and more, living a life full of fear might seem the appropriate thing to do. It is not. There is a better way.

What is this way? Simply put, it is a path of hope. It is a path of faith, optimism, courage, and dogged determination to fight for all that is right and good. It is choosing to stand when lesser men would flee. It is trusting to Divine providence, and believing that He will save us--for save us He shall.

But let us use an example from history to illustrate this point, but which example? We could talk about how George Washington was protected so often, that his men believed he was immune to cannon fire. We could talk about a man in a lion's den, and how the man was not harmed. But for now, I think one of the best examples of courage and faith can be found in 2 Kings.

Imagine this: The King of Syria wants to destroy a group of people called the Israelites, but the Israelites have a prophet on their side. The Israelites keep avoiding traps placed by the Syrians because they are being warned by their prophet, which quite naturally makes the King of Syria furious. And during the night, the Syrians go to the city where the Prophet resides, and surround it with horses and chariots. Then when the servant of the prophet wakes up, he sees the surrounding army and exclaims "Alas, my master! how shall we do?" Yet the prophet does not fear. He says "Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them." In the end, the Prophet prays to have the servant's eyes opened, and the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire.

So I say, fear not. Sure there are plenty of troubles around, but it lies with you to choose what you will see. Will you see the invading army, or will you see the chariots of fire that are surrounding you? In the end, we already know what side is going to win, so fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
